The Adult Forum at 9:00 on Sunday June 5 will feature The Rev. Ray Dancy of the Macedonia Church, who will talk about the program called SAVE (Serving All Vessels Equally). SAVE features several mentoring programs for Norwalk youth, and Ray will talk about how the organization works to help address the needs of the community. All are welcome to attend.
BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPLIES: As we have done the past two years, during the month of August, we will collect back-to-school supplies at the altar, which will be passed along to our own Nancy Pratt, the director of the Norwalk Mentor Program. The items collected will be blessed on August 28 at the conclusion of the Prayers of the People. On that day, we will also take a moment to bless the backpacks of parishioners heading back to school the following week.…
WOMEN’S GROUP: The next meeting of the Christ Church Women’s Group will be August 28, after worship. We’ll re-convene after the summer break to discuss fund raising and other activity plans for the new season.
All are invited to a special bingo and coffee hour downstairs in the Large Parish Hall. Church School students will be sure to leave with lots of prizes to help prepare them for a new school year. They will each also go back to school with a package of supplies to offer to their teacher, who will, in turn, share the extra supplies with children in need. We are saddened to pass along news of the death of Richard Hoyt, who found rest eternal in the early hours of September 26. Richard, in days gone, had been a fixture in the Christ Church community; as an active layperson, serving as part of the vestry among other roles in our common life.
