As Thanksgiving approaches, we are reminded of the blessings we have received in our lives. This Sunday, we will have an opportunity to show our thanks for these blessings in a tangible way as we we present our pledge cards to be blessed at both the 8 and 10 am services.
Recently, you should have received a letter from the Vestry about Stewardship of God’s blessings, and your pledge to help be stewards of the things God has so abundantly given us.
As was expressed in the letter, the definition of the word “Pledge” is a solemn promise or undertaking asking one to make a “commitment”.
Pledging is not just about how many dollars we feel comfortable giving to Christ Church over this next year, but also about how we can return thanks to God for His blessings and show a solemn “commitment” to help Christ Church prosper both financially and in its growth of community over this next year.
It is not the monetary size of your Pledge, but rather the value of your heartfelt commitment to walk the Christian discipline of Faith. Thus, it is a time to visit our hearts, as well as our pocketbooks, and contribute abundantly as the spirit guides us, in monetary pledges as well as in time and energy; to the ever growing and changing needs and expectations of our Christ Church Family.
Please make every effort to join us this Sunday as we celebrate all of our blessings together.
If you did not receive a pledge card in the mail, there are extras available at church.
